With graduation in sight, please be aware of the following important information as we move from May to June.
The Graduation Parade and Prom are set for June 25th. The Graduation parade starts at 6:30pm and line up begins at 6:00 pm.Ā The prom starts at 8:30 pm at the Old Orchard Inn.Ā
About Prom/Graduation Parade (ThursdayĀ June 25, 2026):
The Horton High Prom/Graduation parade is a beloved community event that originated in 2021 as an alternative to cancelled proms during COVID-19 restrictions. This tradition offers graduates a chance to walk a red carpet on Wolfville’s Main Street. Students, dressed in their finest, are announced and photographed as they walk with a date, friend, or group. The inclusive nature of the event removes the pressure of an expensive vehicle arrival for prom and serves as a strong display of community support for the graduating class.

How the Day Looks:
2:30-5:00 pm Irving Centre is reserved for photos.Ā This is a drop in session for the photos, and is optional.Ā There is typically a planned Group Picture at 5:00 PM at the Irving Center
Check in for the Grad Parade is at 6:00 PM at the Acadia Theatre FestivalĀ
6:30-8:00 pm Parade on Main Street Wolfville (Acadia arena has been secured in the event of rain)

Prom/Parade (2024) (Please wish for SUNNY weather again this year)

Graduation Night – Monday June 29th
The Graduation Ceremony for the approximately 250 graduates will take place at Horton High School on Monday, June 29th, beginning at 4:00 PM. The ceremony is expected to last about 2.5 hours.
Following the ceremony, there will be an informal reception with refreshments in Horton Hall (Cafeteria). This is an opportunity for graduates, staff, and families to connect one last time before the end of the school year. Please note that Horton Staff will be collecting the Horton Graduation Sashes at this time.
There are no tickets but we ask that families keep their # of guests to 4-6 people.Ā Ā
An alert on reserved seating for those that will need assistance will be sent to families later in May or early June.Ā
Grad Gowns:Ā
Graduates should watch for announcements regarding the pick-up of their Grad Gowns, Caps, and Sash.
Please note:
- The custom sash must be returned after graduation as it is a costly item.
- The gowns and caps are purchased as souvenirs for the graduates. This souvenir option was chosen because the cost is similar to rental fees, and the lighter material will be more comfortable in the potentially hot and humid gymnasium in June.
Starting the week of June 15th, these can be picked up from Ms. Lewis in Student Services.
Grad Practices:
Please watch for the alerts and announcements regarding graduation practices.Ā Students need to attend these practices.Ā When they do not attend, it makes the graduation night more different for our staff volunteers.Ā Ā
Thursday, June 4th – Graduation practice #1 at 1:15 pm
Thursday, June 18th – Graduation practice #2 at 1:15 pm
Friday, June 26th – Final Graduation Practice at 2:30 PM (Final gown pick-up available after practice)Ā
Safe Grad:
Safe Grad will begin at around 10:00 PM, following the graduation social, and will be held at Horton again this year. The Safe Grad Committee will send out a separate document in June detailing the specifics. Students will be required to sign up for Safe Grad at that time using a link provided by the Committee.
