In Nova Scotia, Education Week 2026 will take place from May 10 to 16.
Education Week 2026ās theme isĀ Fostering Empathy: Learning and Leading with Kindness.
This year, we celebrate teachers, school staff, and community partners who show how kindness can make a big difference in learning. When schools focus on fostering empathy, they create safe and welcoming spaces where everyone feels included.Ā Empathy helps students build strong friendships, work well together, and grow into leaders who care about others. By learning and leading with kindness, we prepare students not just for success in school, but for making their communities better places.
Education Appreciation Week is a time to acknowledge the important contributions of all school staff to the overall learning experience. This recognition includes every staff member; teachers, educational assistants, cleaning staff, bus drivers, and administrative assistants, because each individual is essential in creating and maintaining a positive learning environment.
We invite students and community members to show appreciation for our staff. Feel free to submit a general message of thanks or acknowledge specific staff members or teams.
There are several ways you can express your gratitude:
-
Tell a staff member thank you in person.
-
Send a direct message (card, email, or note) to the school or a specific staff member.
-
Use the attached form to share positive feedback.
We will collect and share the notes with staff and/or read them during announcements during Education Appreciation Week.
Thank you for your support
