Dear Parents/Guardians, 

At Horton High School, we require a lot of volunteers to make our programs run smoothly. Volunteer positions go from driving students other than your own to a school event, to coaching a sports team. 

All volunteers should review the following provincial guidelines at this link: Volunteer Background Check Policy 

Please note the following mandatory requirements for all AVRCE volunteers:

• Child Abuse Register Search (required); 
• Vulnerable Sector Check or Criminal Records Check (required).
• AVRCE Volunteer Expectations Sheet (please make sure you read before signing)
• J-Form if you are driving a student. 

These documents are available at Horton. The documents can be brought back to the office once you have them all completed.  They must come in all at once. Office administration will not accept the documentation for volunteers unless all are submitted at the same time. Only checks that have been completed and dated in the previous 6 months will be accepted. 

The checks have to be redone every 3 years. If you are unsure on the status of your checks, please contact Peter Morse at peter.morse@avrce.ca
