The Girls’ D1 basketball team won the 37th annual Dairytown Classic in Sussex, NB over the weekend. Defeating the top team in New Brunswick Ecole Mathieu Martin 81-77 in a hard-fought semifinal game. The girls then beat one of the top teams from Quebec, Academie St Louis, 68-64 in the final, avenging a round robin loss on Thursday.
The girls played lockdown defence all weekend and Autumn Kuryluk and Olivia McIntyre-King were recognized as tournament all-stars.
Isobel MacDonald was dominant, especially in the final, picking up 30 points and was named tournament MVP.
