Horton High School – Calendar Update February ‘25

Horton office hours: Horton office phones are only answered from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  We do not have an answering service option.  If you need to alert the office outside these hours please email jodye.routledge@avrce.ca 

Planned schedule/times for an AVRCE late Start due to poor weather condition 

Buses will run 2 hours later than normal.  A normal 8:35 pick-up would now be delayed until 10:35.

Bell times for the 2 hour delayed start
Warning bell:   10:55
Period 1:       11:00 – 11:50
Period 2:       11:55 – 12:45
Lunch:       12:45 – 1:32
Period 3:        1:37 – 2:27
Period 4:        2:32 – 3:22

• Feb 3 – First day of semester 2
• Feb 6/7 – Grad Photo Retakes / Group Photos 
• Feb 7 – Grade 9 student scheduling Google Meet
• Feb 10 – Grade 10/11 student scheduling Google meet
• Feb 10th to Feb 14th – Mr Routledge to visit Gr 9 Math classes for follow up questions
• Feb 13 – Reports are emailed home
• Feb 17 – Heritage Day – No school
• Feb 19 – Grade 10/11 student scheduling Google meet #2
• Feb 20 – Grade 9 student scheduling Google Meet #2
• Feb 25 – Grade 9 students will register with their math class.
• Feb 26 – 2 hour early dismissal
• Feb 26 – U of Waterloo Math contests (grade 9-11)

  Do not cross the crosswalk with your car, use the new student drop off zone.  There is a sign “DO NOT ENTER.” Parents are reminded that no traffic should be in our bus loop inferring with bus traffic.
• Horton High School is Scent Free
  We have staff members and students who have a severe allergy to scented products. We are asking that you please make sure that students do not wear scented products to school.  If you are visiting our school, please make sure you do not wear scented products.
