Greetings from the Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC) at the University of Waterloo.
We are delighted to inform you that the CEMC is now accepting applications from grade 9 and 10 students for the Seeing Possibilities and Rewards in Computer Science (SPARCS) workshop.
SPARCS is a week-long, immersive workshop, designed to ignite enthusiasm for computer science in students who have little or no previous exposure to the subject.
Audience: Students belonging to gender identities under-represented in computer science. Applicants must be in grade 9 or 10, interested in mathematics and computer science, and currently attend a Canadian high school or middle school.
Dates and location: May 4 to May 10, 2025, in-person at the University of Waterloo.
Application deadline: February 12, 2025
