myBlueprint Weeks

It was recently announced that the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) is putting on a promotion to encourage schools to engage students in utilizing the MyBlueprint career program.Ā  DEECD aims to raise awareness about this program during the weeks of December 2-13, and they are asking schools to promote it and find ways to have all students enroll and connect with this program.

Parents and students ask about course and career planning on a regular basis.Ā  This program is designed for parents and students to interact with these topics anytime they wish.Ā  A Key target is exploring careers and applying to post-secondary that is matched with high school path, personality traits and learning styles.

What is MyBlueprint?

Allows students grades 4-12 to:

  • Explore personality traits, interests and learning styles
  • Chart a path through high school
  • Import/populate credits and grades from PowerSchool
  • Create a portfolio
  • Create a resume and cover letter
  • Apply for jobs now and search for jobs they may look for after high school
  • Gives local LSI and Post-Secondary information

During the myBlueprint Week, students will try different myBlueprint activities based on grade level, with support from teachers, school staff, and Nova Scotia Works school liaisons:

Grade 9/10 ā€“ High School Planner and Goal Setting
Grade 11/12 ā€“ Occupation, Post-Secondary Search, and Portfolios

To prepare for this activity at Horton, we are hoping that all students login into the program and begin to explore this platform before the AVRCE myBlueprint activities in December.

Students can login into myBlueprint from the Google Education Launchpage.
