Horton Library hosted a meet-and-greet event on December 19th that was a huge success.
Students waited (very patiently) to meet Susan, WIlson, Lucy, Coral, Robert, Daisy and many more of their friends. A big thank you to Pete and his team from ForPetesSnakes.ca . They were so knowledgeable, and extremely patient with those of us who had never held a snake before, never had one crawl up our arms, or into a sleeveā¦ you get the idea!
Even the day care children came to meet the snakes and bravely watched as their teacher held the snakes so they could give them some very gentle pets. Again, thanks to Pete and Marsha and their HHS assistants Sarah and Thomas, and a big thank you to all the HHS students for waiting, and sharing, so everyone (who wanted to) got a chance to meet a snake up close.
And a special thanks to some people who did NOT want to meet a snake, but were brave enough to visit the library anyway, or to cheer us on from afar.
