The Division 1 girls basketball team hosted the Eastern Canadian Classic this weekend.
The girls came out with a hot start with two convincing wins over CEC and Miramichi Valley allowing them to advance to the semi-finals on Sunday. Rachel Veale was a great on ball defender, Isobel MacDonald was a tough finisher and rebounder and Autumn Kuryluk brought some sharp shooting to the games on Saturday.
In the semi finals, the girls faced a talented Grammar team and came out on top advancing to the finals. Ali Oluyole brought offensive intensity and helped propel the girls to victory. The girls faced a tough North Nova team and unfortunately lost a hard fought battle in the finals. The girls close out the 2023 tournament season this coming weekend in Auburn.
