The Horton D1 girls basketball team extended their tournament win streak to 3 this weekend.
After a tough loss to Leo Hayes Friday night, the girls bounced back with two wins on Saturday to finish 2nd in their pool. The player of the game Friday was Julia Akao with her excellent defence. Saturday morning Linda Vitali earned player of the game with her aggressive offensive play. In the second game of the day on Saturday Isobel Macdonald was our player of the game.
The girls played North Nova in the semis Sunday morning and came away with a gritty win. Ali Oluyole lead the team with 36 points and was player of the game. In the finals, the girls got a rematch against Leo Hayes and battled from behind the whole game. With a strong final 4 minutes, some important stops and clutch foul shots the girls came out on top with a win. Rachel Veale was player of the game for her hustle on the rebounding and composure on offence.
