READY FOR A NEW SEMESTER
It never fails to surprise us how fast the year progresses. February is already here. It is typically a busy month at Horton, just a repeat of the September hustle.
February marks the time of year that administration begins preparing to transition into the next school year with course registration and grade 8 transition. February passes very quickly. Before we know it, I will be typing in the March Blog!
This time of the year marks a fresh start for many of our high school students. Please ensure that your child starts strong in all their semester 2 classes. With new courses starting this week, watch for course outlines and communication plans, both documents contain a lot of important information about the new courses.
Please continue to coach your child in the areas of :
ļØ Consistent student attendance (When feeling well)
ļØ Coming to class on time
ļØ Appropriate and respectful behavior
ļØ School participation in clubs and other activities
ļØ Putting forward their best effort. Stay engaged
February is just like any other month here at school with regards to trying to keep the communication lines open. We will continue to communicate daily with many families so that we can help ensure each student achieves success in school. If a student is not well, they still should not come to school. Continue to follow the self-screening and isolation process for Covid-19. Parents should confirm absences with grade level administrators to ensure complete attendance records are updated.
Horton prides itself on its effective communication with its school community. Never hesitate to contact us! It will take a team effort to ensure success for all students.
Sincerely,
Jodye Routledge
Principal
